quigonejinn: (hornblower - broad pennant o'joy)
There are many reasons why I love Horatio Hornblower fandom. [livejournal.com profile] black_hound is one of them.

She's smart and funny and brilliant and has proper taste in food don't take no shit from anyone, and oh man oh man. Is she nice or what? Today, I got in the mail -- I typed male the first time -- not one, not two, not three, not even four, but in fact, eleven CDs of Paul McGann screencaps and an additional CD full of fandom vids. This, on top of the Nice Town/Ancient Mariner DVDs she posted me last time ad the ridiculously high-res PMG/Dr. Who stuff she sent along and lkjgdf beyond the whole notion that she'd be nice enough to send me, oh my GOD. OH MY GOD.

The greatest picture in the history of the universe. Probably NSFW. )

*SCREAMS* Sorry, Satan. There's nothing you can send to hell. [livejournal.com profile] black_hound and that screencap right there have already pwnzered my soul. OMFG.

:D :D

What Rhod fandom obsesion would be complete without a laboriously and dorkily constructed soundtrack? Just thank mercy that they didn't actually film any of the Bush-centric HH books or you'd be subject to sound clips of McGann talking between tracks. XD

The Hardest Road (HH/WB, .zip, 65 MB, 13 songs in at least 160 CBR)

Cover art. )

Individual track download. )
quigonejinn: (obi wan - mad cos i'm asking 21 question)
I supect that everybody is already like OMG [livejournal.com profile] quigonejinn, STFU ALREADY, but ahahha. When have I ever followed instructions? Below, songs that I'd had ready to go for the game from the "tell me a scene, I tell you a song" game from Friday, but never had a chance to bring into play.

HH )

SW. )

And [livejournal.com profile] imadra_blue, I lied. I realized that this is my Anakin and Obi-Wan reunion track.
quigonejinn: (hornblower - coffee hangovermg.)
All right. So it's not the classiest or best or most accurate historical movie in the world -- it's probably not even the classiest or best or most accurate one on, like, the historical movie short bus -- but after[livejournal.com profile] black_hound pointed out that there was a scene with Paul McGann weeding! a! garden!, I knew that I had to see "Catherine the Great."

Eight reasons to watch Catherine the Great. )

360 odd screencaps (~91 MB, McGann-centric and mostly in order except for the corset scene which I went back afterwards in a futile attempt to catch teh hoht. And the DVD was, alas, not that good quality. l/p: scally/wag)
quigonejinn: (obi wan - we can go do what u like :>)
My personal Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan FST. Even if you don't buy the interpretations, check out the music because I love each of these songs independent of any Q/O association that I have with them.

In particular, holy God. Gregory and the Hawk - Boats and Birds. I hadn't heard of them either until yesterday, and now, I can't stop listening to it. My God.

And if anybody wants more from these artists, just drop me a line, and I will shower you with enthusiasm and tracks. Seriously. Talking to people about how much I love music is one of the great joys of my life.

ETA: Since it seems that people are still DL'ing this -- now with actually functioning links! *_*

Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan FST (63MB)
l/p: scally/wag

track by track, with explanations. using general JA outlines. Sort of a hushed and sad soundtrack in general. )
quigonejinn: (ducard - pimp in every sense of the word)
In 96 kbps:

my body ached; I was nearly dead on my feet
he should have gone to bed to get warm
the bewitching features of the most beautiful face
a man swimming in the sea among the wreckage of his ship
no boots, and I was afraid of the frost
So [livejournal.com profile] temve's CD arrived today all the way from Germany today, and not only is it Ewan and have Ewan as a little jewel case cover insert thingy, but it's Ewan reading Chekhov from Book at Bedtime, and this makes me so happy that I can barely even speak. I let out this long eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee when I picked up the mail and oh my God, oh my God, oh my God.
I have seen green forests, fields, rivers, lakes, cities. I have heard the singing of the sirens, and the strains of the shepherds' pipes; I have touched the wings of comely devils who flew down to converse with me of God. In your books, I have plunged into the bottomless pit, performed miracles, murdered, burned towns, preached new religions, conquered whole kingdoms.
Now imagine Ewan's voice reading that. The ups and downs. The way his accent flickers in and out. Now combined with sheer, gorgeous emotional intensity of Chekhov. OMG. You should hear the way he makes his voice go a little, the way he falters at I have touched the wings.

God bless [livejournal.com profile] temve.

28 Star Wars Ongoing & Republic Icons. No spoilers. Made with bases from gender )

Good part about reading comics in class: you stay awake and look alert and interested in discussion.

Bad part: When re-reading a particularly excellent comic, you end up making the most retarded face on Earth because you're trying to keep from laughing, snickering, and giggling all at once.

dkjf;lih my love of Tholme and Quinlan, man. My utter, unending love. From the Stark Hyperspace Wars series, #3 of 4. One scan, 260K. )

Obi-Wan and Quinlan omg. Two scans, 260K apiece. )

But yes. I love the Stark Hyperspace War comics. My God. Forget some shit about bacta and combines and viruses or whatever -- look at all the Master-Padawan interaction instead. You get to see so many variations on the theme. Tholme and Quinlan with their verbal sniping. Qiu-Gon and Obi-Wan with Obi-Wan's utterly adorable O.O omgomgmastuh! O.O Tvydkfjd and Plo Koon, too, for post-Knighting relationships. That scene where Obi-Wan disturbs Plo Koon and :/

And how much does it warm my heart that Qui-Gon is Plo Koon's homeboy, by the way?

Individual links for dialup: Quinlan and Tholme on Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and Quinlan (1, 2)
quigonejinn: (obi wan - it's feeling like a dream now)
Neither soundtrack nor fic, but uh, I've been listening to this terrible plebey cinematic/trip-pop album obsessively for the past few days, and I'm convinced that "As if Nothing" by Craig Armstrong is, like, totally OMG Prequel Jedi: links and stuff )

Really, the whole album is rather internal life of Star Wars-esque and stuff and yeah. *plebz*
quigonejinn: (obi wan - look back look again)
So. What do I do when I'm too braindead to write or reply to comments but have the sad, true story of Obi-Wan Kenobi running through my head the way that stock prices run on that retarded little thingy CNN has on the bottom of its daytime broadcasts? Why, finish working on the damn soundtrack that I've been slaving over for three freaking months and for which I still do not have a cover but have finally DONE and COMPLETED and THIS IS VERSION 3.2 YES I HAVE BEEN COUNTING THEM and OMG I HAVE PUT MY SOUL INTO THIS THING.

super-emo FST for Obi-Wan Kenobi )
