Strange and Uncharted Waters. (114MB, 85:17)

Soundtrack and musical commentary on the Horatio Hornblower books using twenty one songs/instrumental pieces and ten clips from the audiobooks, merged into a single track. Think of it as an essay, I guess, on what I think is going on in HH's emotional life -- the lonely start, the gathering of determination, the tragedy in Atropos -- and how that shapes the events in the books that come afterwards.

I just uh. Did it with. Um. Sean Paul and Bjork instead of real paragraphs. And it's a little tongue-in-cheek sometimes, OK? I'm not completely serious about proposing Horatio Hornblower as Eminem. Pellew is so totally not Dr. Dre.

Cover and back are from Hornblower's second favorite book in the world after Decline and Fall, Norie's Epitome. Lucy Kaplansky track is courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] commodorified who suggested it way, way, way back in the day for HH/Maria. <3

And [livejournal.com profile] randomalia -- I packed a copy of these onto the CD's I sent, so WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT, YOU ARE GETTING THESE :D :D :D

What Rhod fandom obsesion would be complete without a laboriously and dorkily constructed soundtrack? Just thank mercy that they didn't actually film any of the Bush-centric HH books or you'd be subject to sound clips of McGann talking between tracks. XD

My personal Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan FST. Even if you don't buy the interpretations, check out the music because I love each of these songs independent of any Q/O association that I have with them.

In particular, holy God. Gregory and the Hawk - Boats and Birds. I hadn't heard of them either until yesterday, and now, I can't stop listening to it. My God.

And if anybody wants more from these artists, just drop me a line, and I will shower you with enthusiasm and tracks. Seriously. Talking to people about how much I love music is one of the great joys of my life.

ETA: Since it seems that people are still DL'ing this -- now with actually functioning links! *_*
