You know the drill.

Do me a favor and ask for five things. My fandoms are: Star Wars, Hornblower, RPF for Paul McGann and/or other Hornblower actors, Supernatural, West Wing, Venture Brothers, Boondock Saints and really, anything that you might desire to see done in a halfassed way. If anybody wants it, I'll even write Battlestar Galactica, Nip/Tuck, and Harry Potter.

Be greedy and ask for lots. I'm in a rut these days, and writing these short little things will help me pare down my blather tendencies. :D

Five things Barbara told Hornblower after meeting Marie.

1. "Your friends the Graçays are very charming." What she meant: the woman in gold is in love with you, and the Comte is fond of you in a way that my family will never be.

2. "She is beautiful. Those eyes, that complexion, that hair. So often women with reddish hair and brown eyes have poor complexions." What she meant: that woman is more beautiful than I am. I had you, and I have you in my bed, but since she was wearing gold. She has beauty and that father-in-law; she'll have you before long.

3. Her mouth is too wide. What she meant: that woman is beautiful, and her father-in-law may be infinitely more distinguished than mine, but she still looks like a peasant.

4. "They will be moving much in good society now." What she meant: So would I, at Vienna.

5. You will be happy at Smallbridge. What she meant: I know you are already thinking about going to back to France, that you are more than halfway in love with that woman, but if that is the price that I have to pay to go to Vienna, then I'll pay it.
