It's a misery of an end-of-October day. Screw being responsible and doing work; I stayed up until 4AM last night re-reading old fandom favorites of mine, and man oh man. I'll never stop loving this by Diane Coffin and this by Cynthia Martin.
And is there anything even a smidgeon wrong with Wrong by
billytaylor? And Close Quarters (1 2 3 4 5 6 7) oh WIP of my heart, one of only two WIPs that I love enough to follow across weeks and months and years if need be when I have problems sitting still through a single TV show even with all the commercials cut out. I have the attention span of somebody whose first memory of television is MTV and who grew up during the day of Windows multi-tasking, and yet I love this multi-chapter fic like burning and feel that if I someday write something half as rich and engrossing as "Close Quarters," my work as a writer will be done.
And oh this, which makes me squeal like the hopeless, hopeless, hopeless fangirl I am everytime I see it.
It's not schmoop, bitches. It's high fucking art. Don't make me break a bottle and come after you.

Date: 2006-10-20 06:21 am (UTC)I'm practically haunting this site, just waiting for updates, and I'm about as patient as a rabid cat that's accidentally gone and eaten tiger balm. Does that tell you anything about the calibre of your writing?
I swear, one day when I have time-- i will get around to creating a little shrine dedicated to you and your fic. I could put little boats around it and label them, and little effigies of Bush and Hornblower. And offer them pineapples and mangoes. And mustard. With mutton. And rum. As a sacrifice. And a sign saying, all fall and worship quigonejinn, queen of hh fic.

Date: 2006-10-20 09:05 pm (UTC)speaking of old great SW fic, you've probably seen this one tons of times before but I keep rereading crystallize by torch. it's a little slice of wintry unresolved-tension perfection.

Date: 2006-10-21 04:19 am (UTC)And Crystallize. Yeah. Awesome old piece. It took me a couple efforts to get into it becuase the beginning is a little slow, but man. It's so perfectly constructed and tightly constructed. Good stuff. :D
