Pursuit of Happiness

Kid Cudi, Tony Stark, both movies.

I cannot even fucking tell you the amount of difficulty I've had wrestling this #*%)(@#*&$@# vid in and out of various encoders. Something about Windows 7 fucks up all of my trusty and reliables, so I, uh, ended up pretty much using the stupid fucking bloatware DivX encoder to do it. !@*@&$)(*&#.

The cut between the couch and Tony assessing the toxicity levels for the hundredth time, guts me. Seriously. Just that line you draw, between two moments where he doesn't think the bottom could drop any further out from under him, and then it finds a way. Augh.

(also. again. the timing on the little sensor going red. SUCH A SUCKER FOR THAT, RHOD.)

I keep watching this and watching this and watching this and it's gutting me. You know about my capslock feelings regarding the EMOTIONS, but just, technically, the way you've cut this, especially back and forth between the fight scenes, is just so good. The circling and the motion of it, the smooth movement. Love it. Love it.

Oh, his little face.

When he's---it's almost a submission---when he's changing into the suitcase-suit on the racetrack, and you cut it with the fever-dream shots of his surgery, and it's like everything that's happened is a step in a (often horrifyingly physical) process of transformation...

You just...

Wow, this was great.

wow, okay, I've watched this like half a dozen times, I THINK I CAN COMMENT NOW.

I love actually the most the cut at the beginning where you show him with the girls and then alone on the stage. And then 'tell me what you know about night terrors' with Pepper - his face in the mirror checking his blood, and putting on the suitcase suit, and in the airplane, he just looks so terribly alone. :[

Oh Tony. This was fabulous.

God, okay, I can't even - I've missed your vids so much. I love the pace of the cuts in this (too easy for fanvids to be almost completely schizophrenic with its editing, and this is just gorgeous and easy even though, Christ, it rips your heart out), but God, you choose the perfect pieces every time.

I've been totally recommended this video all over the place, and I can't get it to work, boo! I've got a mac running the latest version of firefox (both of which hate me). Do you have any alternate links?

I thought about that, but I actually don't even get the option to download it. I can either 'open link in new window' or 'open link in new tab'. Each option opens up the first second of the video, and then it freezes. Thanks, computer!

(sorry to be a pain in the butt!)

EEE. Okay, obviously I need to watch this a few more times, but I love how the first movie haunts the second movie in this. And the contrast between Natasha in just her jumpsuit and Tony in his armor, and and and. MORE LATER I'M SURE.

And I second the love for the way your vids let the footage breathe instead of rapid-fire cutting.
