- AU with Obi-Wan as the Chosen One. Is this even possible? In my head,Obi-Wan is so much shaped by cycles of rejection and distance that it's hard to imagine him as the Chosen One. It'd beinteresting to try.

- Rewrites of fairy tales into the SW universe, done in the style that they do them for Gundamn Wing. The Story of a Youth Who Went Forth to Learn What Fear Was is easily modified into the story of Obi-Wan going to Tatooine the second time to learn what grief is, and well, even a total non-O/A fan like me can see the The Frog King is actually Obi-Wan and Anakin. The thing, though, is that the story keeps going after the frog turns into a handsome prince, and no, I'm not being mocking. :>

And would be it be possible to rewrite Cinderella for Anakin? You'd have to axe off the traditional stuff about the hazel branch and all that, but there's something intruiging about starting out tongue-in-cheek with Watto standing in the role of all three stepsisters because he's just that ugly and having it go through farce before ending in a dark sentence about how things did not end up happily ever after.

Prompted by [livejournal.com profile] cupiscent posting about Nochnoi Dozor stories.

- Rewriting a mix of Japanese folklore stories and early Church mythology for a kind of document-fic about Jedi folklore. Idea from [livejournal.com profile] neotoma. (note: Jedi trickster-figure? Somehow, I doubt it.)

- Something vaguely titled How Four Infants Came to the Jedi Order. Dooku, Xanatos, Qui-Gon, and Obi-Wan, though not necessarily turning out to be in that order because you start out with Obi-Wan's,which is the only one of the set that goes the way it's supposed to. Sad but ultimately willing and loving parents who realize that this is the best thing for their precious boy. Dooku and Xanatos with parallel situations -- Dooku's family giving him up for the prestige of the thing, and Xanatos's father giving him up after Qui-Gon saves a few lives and thus shows the power of the Jedi. Xanatos's mother inconsolably heartbroken.

And finally, Dooku coaxing a PTSD toddler Qui-Gon out from the brushes in that super-depresso setup mentioned to [livejournal.com profile] neotoma.Dooku being as gung-ho about Qui-Gon getting into the Order as Qui-Gon was for Anakin.

- Plutarch's Lives, done SW-universe style. Parallel Jedi and Sith lives, with the Sith lives severely redacted. It'd make for great document fic.

All of which is to say that the ONE THING I want more than, like, anything else in the universe is a document fic that's, like, Obi-Wan's sketchbook from when he's about nineteen or twenty and traveling around the Old Republic with Qui-Gon and bored shitless for days on end. A phase that he grew out of, but I bet he had a very light, draftsmanlike architectural style -- doodles of alien buildings, ships, little pictures of rooms that they've stayed in, a couple of botched attempts to draw alien babes. Designs for modifications that he was maybe thinking about making to his lightsaber, a few sketches of some of the moving sculptures of Alderaan.

The last page, of course, is a doodle of Master, looking out of a starship window. :>

God, see. One idea would be that Qui-Gon mentions to him once that the ability to surveyone's environment v. carefully is important quality of being a Jedi or whatever, and so the sketchbook is kinda like Obi-Wan's unofficial work at doing that. And ahhhhhhhhhhh. <3 <3 <3 Obi-Wan. <3 <3 <3

I do. Every once in a while -- things are so busy, but. For when I am: offtoeducation :D
