The song is on my default playlist, and last week, in the throes of full-blown fandom crazy, I started obsessing about what a fantastic track this would make for an Iron Man vid. And then one of the DOOMTHREADS -- it is 4:30AM, and I am too brainfried to figure out where, even with Gmail's halfway decent search engine -- somebody mentioned wanting to see it. And uh. I was too tired to write tonight, so here! HAVE MY OBSESSION.

Started at 10PM or so of Friday night, finished around 4AM of Saturday morning. Not much in the way of movie-independent storytelling, which is probably why it came together so easily. It usually takes me about eight hours per minute, but I banged this together in way, way under that. Think more like a 5:20 recap of the movie than anything else.

Eh -- they're always retarded, I've just been feeling it lately. I'm sure yours are equally so. I think a lot of it really was the pressure of wanting to finish that story, and damn, yeah -- at this point I owe randomalia and kickthebeat so many of my offspring I'm gonna have to start moving on to internal organs. LONGEST THING I HAVE EVER WRITTEN, FOR A FANDOM I CAN'T FUCKING STAND, CHECK.

On a more relevant note: FUCK, I have to go see this movie again. That was awesome. Especially the bit from like, 3:10-3:30 where he's suiting up, and it's so perfectly synched up? Damn.

I've been resisting the torrent, because the cam, while not awful for a cam, still looks shitty, and because it was so crisp and gorgeous on the big screen -- I really do have to go again. I'm going to Indiana Jones this aft, but maybe tomorrow. *ponders*

(Also, I'm pretty sure "Stronger" can be used to vid any fandom in history. CASE IN POINT, wasn't it you who said something, ages ago, about setting Hornblower's sucked-in cheeks to "you could be my black Kate Moss tonight"? BECAUSE, I MEAN.)

adkjflkjgdf. AHAHAHAH. oh God, I'd forgotten that. And it's true. Maybe Stronger is, like, the new version of Massive Attack's Teardrop -- somebody once told me that a fandom ain't a proper fandom until somebody's done a vid to that. I think it applies more to anime, and it'd be hard to vid because IT'S SO FUCKING LONG, but anyways.

In numerical order:

1. God, SGA fandom is the blow. It's right up there with Doctor Who and Blake's 7 fandom for me.
2. Yes, go see the movie. Again. It's totally worth it. Also, when I went to see it for the second time, I was actually able to pay attention to the little tricks and mannerisms and so forth for RDJ instead of just being BLINDED BY CHARISMA.
3. AHAHAH. CHRIST. I'm glad that the suiting up bit synched for you. I had to do some major hackery to get the suit's eyes to light up to the big noise (see how knowledgeable I am) after West says "That's how long I been on ya," and whenever I watch that section, I'm just in DREAD because I know exactly where they're coming up.

Because you totally asked, one is that the jump right before Kanye says "Man, that's how long -- " It doesn't jump the same degree that the other ones did because I was desperately running out of footage. And the other is right before Kanye says "been." I had to slow down the footage to an abominable rate, then speed it back up again so that it looked normal when the mask closed. And right before the "been" is where the seam is. Bah. Maybe if I hadn't been trying to pull off a fairly complicated stunt at 3AM?

4. Tell me what you think of Indy. The reviews have been SO FULL OF SUCK that I'm afraid to go.

I hate the SGA fandom to death, but I love the canon so much it's not even funny. Basically I indulge my obsession by living in a bubble where I talk about it to randomalia and, well, randomalia, and by writing fucking ridiculous novellas that nobody will read, and never, ever, ever reading anything in or about or near the fandom itself.

(And shit, yeah; if I were in B7 fandom I'm pretty sure I'd kill myself. Poor babel. I almost don't want to watch the show for fear that I'll like it and wind up having to venture into the crazy, y'know?)

And, ahahaha -- I did notice some spots where the footage was speeding up/slowing down, but I thought that was just my shitforbrains processor, rather than the vid itself. I'D NEVER HAVE KNOWN. :D Anyway, I could tell what you were going for, and the intent was awesome.

Yeah, I'm not really holding my breath for Indy, but my mother wants to have a girls' afternoon out, and hey, if she's paying for the popcorn, I'm down. (Hitting up IM again will also have the advantage of being able to go by myself, as opposed to with my sisters, my dad, and the Boyfriend Squad, which was how I saw it the first time -- fun, but not exactly conducive to focus.)

OK, when I went to see IM the second time, I moved so that these college guys who were probably Big Brothers taking their Sibs out for one last outing -- I moved so that they could all sit together? And I ended up moving enxt to a woman who kept making stupid remarks? Like, when Tony pulls the tubes out of his nose, she did an extended and very loud EWWWWWW, WE DIDN'T NEED TO SEE THAT. And during the convo that happens after Obediah is playing Salieri, she started COMPLAINING that there was too much talking in the movie.

I nearly reached over and smother her in her own popcorn. If I were in B7 fandom, I'd probably end up on trial for throwing flaming toilet paper rolls at the houses of certain people.
