Oh, I have no idea what's going on with HP nowadays, but about three years or so ago when I used to travel those parts myself, it was just really ridiculous. Not saying that every fandom doesn't have its own penchant for wank, but HP's always got somebody with a stick up their ass somewhere. And for some reason, it always gets traced back to Cassandra Claire - like, you could almost make a six degrees of CC game out of it. I'm not saying she's a horrible writer, yadda yadda, but I kind of enjoy my current fandom not having her association because I just get SO tired of hearing about her.
