Okay, why I did not read this first when I saw it, eludes me but, ohmygod.
I will be honest with you, I thought the fic was really good and well-written but nothing that would totally make me want to weep. This is what pushed it from, "Really good" to "OMFG YOU ARE BETTER THAN FLUFFY TEDDY BEARS!"
Perhaps, in the end, it was only love as one friend felt for another, but in the end for Bush and for a long time for Horatio, there was so little love and so little that was purely good in the rest of their lives that it did not matter.
And I just read this after viewing one of black_hound's amazing vids so... wow. (the one with the Von Trapp children song. Broke my heart and you did it all over again)
But I think that is so true because yes, there is that bit of me that says, "Stop, they are just friends." (only a small part though. XP)
And really, I think, as ONLY friends...it makes their relationship that more tragic.
