The notion of Force-ghosty being a temporary state is, I think, pretty much SW canon. Alas, I would love to take credit for it, but while it doesn't come up explicitly in the movies, I'm lifting it from multiple sources -- an EU book where Obi-Wan makes his last appearance to Luke, the Power of the Jedi RPG book where they talk at great length about how Light Force ghosts can only stick around for X number of rolls, and the fact that Qui-Gon doesn't show up at the big ghostie reunion. -______-
