I loved the ending, and I thought it worked beautifully, personally. Fit right in.
Honestly, I think any relationship with Obi-Wan involves a lot of avoidance of discussing feelings. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, most definitely on both sides, with Obi-Wan probably quite convinced he's not as loved as he actually is. While with Anakin, Anakin may or may not talk about his feelings (he's a feelings man, but not as open with Obi-Wan as he is Padme), but either way, poor Obi-Wan keeps his mouth shut. *pets him*
