a warning on warnings!

rach74, I realized that it's not exactly fair of me to not put warnings on stuff and not to have a policy.
So here it is: usually, there will be warnings, pairings, rating, and genre. If it's going to be porn, it will say PORN. If it's going to be non-con or incest, there will be similar flags. It sucks to be in the mood for some nasty hard filth and get a fic about Horry eating marshmallows.
I refuse, however, to put a content flag on character death. I'll be happy to hear argument about why it's something that deserves warning as much as incest, non-con, or seriously graphic violence, but right now, I'm not much inclined to do so. If you're in the fandoms I'm in, you can handle clicking away after your favorite character takes the big nap.
I refuse, additionally, to warn for incest, non-con, or anything else if the fic is going to turn on the nasty content -- in other words, if it's supposed to be the big revelation in the story that George Weasley is giving Fred handjobs every night, I'm not going to tell you ahead of time that there will be incest. I'll probably flag it with disturbing content, but that's the extent of it.
