For the longest time, Steve doesn't have a tv in his new place; just an old wood-paneled Columbia turntable and two hip-high boxy speakers against the wall in the living room, next to the window that looks out over the alley. Natasha brings him 45s, sometimes, and one evening Tony comes over with a heavy half-full box. Pepper had pulled out of storage for him, he tells Steve, dusting his hands on his thighs; they'd come out of his dad's old office, after the old man had died. He sits on the kitchen counter while Steve washes his dishes from dinner, talking about Howard and Pepper and Stark Industries and the things they could accomplish as a team, and Steve barely hears him over the sounds of the trumpet drifting in from the next room.
