Before the company car pulls up to the curb and Rhodey, watching her climb into it, seeing the pant leg and the hand with a glass resting on it and thinking it sad that the CFO of her father's company is the only one who bothered to care when Tony's disappeared. He thought that's what the feeling in his chest was, watching Tony clamber into that thing, and not like this was a test and he's forgetting something, like the last few pages of the exam book are stuck together and he's going to fail without even getting a chance to try.
Tony doesn't turn around to wave or look back or anything and Rhodey lets the shades fall back. He'll see her again when the semester starts, it's not like she's gone for good.
