The tension created by Jim's refusal--necessary to the fic--feels invented.
Yeah, I think the tension really depends on the reader finding the idea of Rhodey and Tony having sex hot. If you find that hot, the likelihood of going along with the story is a lot greater. If not -- eh.
T/R was not, admittedly, something that really appealed to me out of the box because of the conspicuous lack of wrong. But it's grown on me because I really do love Rhodey, and there's just a whole world of wrong in the idea that fifteen year old Tony being so blase about sex. (In my head, it's because of bad touch Obadiah, but yeah.)
