I can't overemphasize how much it helps in that regard to have a co-writer who you really, really, really trust to tell you when the shit feels wrong and who you wholly trust to rewrite whatever you throw down. Because, yeah. In a way, it's even better than an editor because she's there in real time with you. These fics wouldn't happen if not for the advent of GoogleDocs.
