Apollo was also a precocious youngster. It's disturbing to think that Obadiah decided to blow up Tony Stark instead of choosing poison or any other a dozen more discreet way of assassinating him. He must've been counting on increasing arms orders from the US gov, foreign govs. security firms etc etc. while killing Tony Stark, which means he's been looking for a chance that will maximize his profits for a long time, perhaps even fifteen years.
