I am 100% in agreement with everything you have said and done here re: subverting romantic clichés; maybe I'm lucky in that I've deliberately avoided the sectors of fandom which I suspect of propagating these types of things, but to me all of this is simply What Makes Sense when it comes to Bush, and you've articulated it all so much more perfectly than I could. *takes notes*
