Oh, man, do I love this. It is not quite as philosophical as the first, but Qui-Gon strikes me as the quintessential Jedi philosopher, while Obi-Wan only plays one on TV, so to speak, as he does not seem capable of expressing his thoughts and beliefs very well until we see him in ANH. I actually sort of liked the way it hopped around. Rather like how I imagine Obi-Wan's memories did when we got to Tatooine. Thoughts are not linear.

I don't know if I should be given any credit for the believability here. (And btw, I'm sorry I didn't send you more emails. I have been so scattered and busy lately, and my inbox is a nightmare.) In fact, you seemed to have done beautifully in voicing a lovely interpretation of unrequited A/O and tied it back to Q/O perfectly. I especially like all the amazing character moments, how Obi-Wan is really not the perject Jedi (though again, plays on on TV, so to speak), how you reflect that so subtley when read in juxtaposition to Qui-Gon's thoughts on love. How Obi-Wan doesn't even clearly voice that love is one of his motivations and seekers, but its quietly present in all his actions and behaviors.

And, if I hadn't passed another sleepless night, I'd give you better and more coherent comments (well, maybe), but this was indeed a wonderful, beautiful thing to read. It really gave me something to dig my teeth into, stuff I can think on and absorb as I go along.
