The 5 Things Meme.

You know the drill.

Do me a favor and ask for five things. My fandoms are: Star Wars, Hornblower, RPF for Paul McGann and/or other Hornblower actors, Supernatural, West Wing, Venture Brothers, Boondock Saints and really, anything that you might desire to see done in a halfassed way. If anybody wants it, I'll even write Battlestar Galactica, Nip/Tuck, and Harry Potter.

Be greedy and ask for lots. I'm in a rut these days, and writing these short little things will help me pare down my blather tendencies. :D

1. Home. As if there could any other conclusion. As soon as peace is signed and settled and will hold because the Aurors are well and truly dead, Marcus takes a portkey down to Italy, finds that Nathan, despite his love of

a. Italian girls
b. Italian scooters
c. Italian girls
d. Italian pussy

has already packed his things. They're in the neatest-looking pile that Marcus has ever seen from his little brother. They fight a little over whether Nathan can bring his scooter back, but in under two hours, they're in England again.

2. Home. The chickens that Nathan left behind have naturalized. There are vines growing over the top of the house, and weeds have blotted out the gravel pathway. Parts of the roof seem like they might fall in -- the protective spells laid on cottage only kept Aurors from finding it. They didn't do much for the structural integrity.

3. Home. "We'll have to shore that main beam up with a new core of wizard hartswood," Nathan says, after a bit of inspection. "It'll be a neat job, but I think a half-round jointing could do it."

Marcus looks at his brother with a little surprise. "I had to do something after I was expelled from school. Uncle Mario took me on in his construction business."

There's a moment of silence. The glass windows have long gone, so they can hear birds chirping. Wind in the trees. Something rustles in the undergrowth.

"You were expelled from school?"

4. Home. The first meal that they have in England is in what used to be the back yard and has become a small forest. Tinned food, mostly, heated up on on a campfire out back. Marcus cooks; Nathan pokes around, looking for chicken eggs, and swearing when the protective hens peck at his ankles.

Aurelius, the old cat, sits on top of what used to be the gazebo and watches them all. He is old enough to remember how the parents of the boys would sometimes take tea out in the garden on warm, summer nights like this.

5. Hogwarts. "Someday," Marcus says. A spring breeze is blowing over the valley, and Nathan nods. They can see the pitch, the lake, everything.

Someday, students will be back. Someday.
