^______^

- AIN'T NOTHING LIKE THE SMELL OF DUMB ON PUSSY MIXED WITH BETRAYAL IN THE MORNIN' :D

- Look! It's a Bamber character that I can like without feeling vaguely ill about hordes of stupid fangirls! Yes, I know that there are a lot of wanktastic jackass morons in the BSG fandom, but really, aww, lookit his emo! Lookit his daddy issues! I got all sniffly when Daddy E broke down and started yelling for his last remaining boy and <3. He is so practical in this.

Plus, I'm digging the roided out, dark-haired Bamber. Yes, I do like Archie, but after reading 29384029348 terrible fics about his flaxen-haired beauty and sapphire orbs, I'm pretty much 128% down with the fact that I can enjoy Bamber without any fandom >:|

- PS: Lee is totally banging Madam President. There's no way they're not. They totally get it on in an empty hangar bay or even that black leather chair in the lounge or whatever? COME ON. Lee sticks his head under her skirt, gives her head, and afterwards, she calls him her little baby and makes him feel less lonely. YOU KNOW IT'S HAPPENING.

- And the Secretary of Education shall inheirit the universe.

- PS: LEE IS SO TOTALLY BANGING MADAM PRESIDENT.

- The burial scene made goosebumps prickle on my arms.

- Leaving the dude on the planet = cool, badass, and totally fucking awesome. Madame President = REALLY FUCKING AWESOME. The badass evil toughmindedness of the writers? TRULY. MOTHERFUCKING. AWESOME. When they leave the ships that can't make the FTL jump? OMG. OMG. OMG. The flashes of light through the aboretum view, that slow gong music, even that cliche'd bit with the little girl. This show cranks up the pain and pressure and OMG.

- I love the speech between Crazypants Cylon and Olmos in the pipes room. Man. The idea of God giving souls to machines because he realized he didn't get it right with humanity? The idea of machines have a real, honest-to-God theology GOOD SHIT.

- I approve of the sassy, tempermental little AZN chick getting her engineer. :>

- PSS: LEE IS SO TOTALLY BANGING MADAM PRESIDENT.

In short, I love the miniseries for Battlestar Galactica. It is tough-minded and crazy and horrifyingly practical. It takes paranoia to an art form, and man, I love Jamie Bamber's character because he is tough-minded and crazy and has daddy issues like you would not believe.

While I don't agree with you re: Lee and President Roslin, I totally share your love about how evil/toughminded the writers are. And the score *so* works.

You will love the 1st season when you get to see the rest of it. The problems are real, they lose people like woah!, and the Cylon theology is the most amazing thing ever (and the Colonials' polytheism is much better developed afer the miniseries).

Also, seeing the actors who play Cylons in other context is kind of weird now, because you keep wonder what they're there to *do* as sleeper agents...

PS There was a lovely Qui-Gon vid linked on [livejournal.com profile] jedi_news on Saturday. Have you seen it?

I've been catching episodes now and then on tv, and what IS it about the female characters that makes them sex on feet? The men don't have this magical effect, it's only the women. Is it only me?! D:

Is Lee the old guy with dark hair and leathery skin who's always with her? Then, yeah, they are very much intimate. *coughs*

I've not seen this, though I have a friend who likes it a lot. You know why I think I can actually write fic and enjoy a lot of characters in the Hornblower fandom? I don't read any fic. Just yours, and a miscellaneous piece here and there. Fic can spell doom for characters and fandoms.

Madam President rocks. You would be unsurprised by the rash of Laura/Lee fanfic after the mini and through S1.

Ron Moore - who exec produces - is a Hornblower fan. Every so often the characters - especially Lee - will say or do something that is so Hornblower it blows my mind.

I love Lee Adama in the mini and S1. He is fantastic. I love the hair, I love the American accent, and I love that he is all shitty with major daddy issues. Plus: Lee and Laura = hot pants love.

What do you mean no fangirls? BSG fandom is batshit crazy compared to Hornblower fandom, and I stay the hell away from it.

best beloved, you know you are more dear to me than any other but i don't know whether i am amazed or horrified.

I saw an icon a few weeks ago from BSG (which I've never watched but for which I have heard nothing but praise) and didn't know The Bamber was in it; I did a double-take and was like, "why is Archie ripped...?" if it's as good a show as you say I def. will have to scout around and check it out. I don't love all scifi/fantasy, but when the scifi is a vehicle for character/emotional exploration? solid gold, I'm hooked. and with as much latent DS9 love as I have lurking in my past, there's a strong possibility of me loving it. have you a clue where to find a copy, perchance?

also I have finally settled down from recent life turbulence and have begun reading Hotspur, and am remembering the initial rush of affection I felt for the books when I read Lt HB months ago. they're just so fun, but rich at the same time. of course now I'm reading them specifically looking for HH/WB interaction. I blame you.

also also I cannot stop listening to Rabbit Songs.
