Strange and Uncharted Waters. (114MB, 85:17)
Soundtrack and musical commentary on the Horatio Hornblower books using twenty one songs/instrumental pieces and ten clips from the audiobooks, merged into a single track. Think of it as an essay, I guess, on what I think is going on in HH's emotional life -- the lonely start, the gathering of determination, the tragedy in Atropos -- and how that shapes the events in the books that come afterwards.
I just uh. Did it with. Um. Sean Paul and Bjork instead of real paragraphs. And it's a little tongue-in-cheek sometimes, OK? I'm not completely serious about proposing Horatio Hornblower as Eminem. Pellew is so totally not Dr. Dre.

neotoma recc'd Mediaeval Baebes to somebody else a coon's age ago, and I haven't been able to get Salva Nos out of my head ever since. onthecontrary for pointing me towards "Why You Tryin' to Play Me" and "Requiem for Usher." Sean Paul and the complete riotous cracktasticness of that comes from me laughing myself sick over how cheesy this story is. A ho is a ho, and a mama is a mama. Or something
yorkshirewench made an amazing HH/WB vid with "Too Lost in You," and OMG, I can't even think HH/WB anymore without going ^_^ HH can't see anything because the love and crazy have him blind ^_____^. black_hound supplied the Duellists Theme and about 61% of the meta theory underlying this soundtrack. And manonmaru hooked me up with Grant Lee phillips's "Like A Lover" about a week previous, and I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO STOP LISTENING TO IT.
I don't expect Diamond Dogs to be comprehensible or on-topic for anybody exceptblack_hound, but :D I could not resist. Rain or shine, man. I bring it buckets.
