I love how you can come into a fandom and write something wonderfully in-character and insightful and interesting while I'm still going HEY LOOK AT THIS CHARACTER HEY HE WEARS A TIE WOO. And so on.

Now that you've put the image in my head, I love the idea of Ianto using the invisible lift and just standing there on the block, so that he can see everything and people can't see him. It's like the Ianto equivalent of Jack angsting at the top of tall buildings where he *could* jump or fall off, if there would ever be a point in that happening.
