Gorgeous. AUs are not always my thing, but this is so true to the characters, and you make such good use of the modern setting to show new things about the characters, that it works beautifully. I love Hornblower being haunted by dreams of his other life, too.

Your prose in this story is elegantly spare but very rich in specific detail; it was a joy to read.
