Writing Kennedy is hard, man. On the one hand, he's this woobie smartass kind of guy who fit every fangirl's dream of being young and cute and into literature. On the other hand, when it's gotta do with work, he's kind of a hardass, and he makes this choice, in Retribution, that Hornblower is more important to him than his family. And his family is, like, practically the first thing we hear him talk about ever.
