Flying Colours is amazing. *g* The OMGHANDHOLDING and the snuggling in the woods along the Loire. I like too that there is one book that strips them of their sea-going life and forces them to interact on land and struggle with physical and spiritual mutilation -- the loss of his foot for Bush and the loss of the Sutherland for HH. And why that book hasn't been slashed to BeJesus and back is beyond me. I only know of one fic directly based on FC and that's "Garden of Prosperine" by [livejournal.com profile] dastier

I'll have to take a deep breath one of these days and vomit forth the Numb vidding adventure. It was the first vid I ever attempted and I was awash in all sorts of technical difficulties for one thing. I repeatedly swear on a stack of Bibles that I am going to go back in and remaster it to remove the technical compression mistakes. And since I'm not a writer AT ALL I had a wholebigbunch of trouble stablizing the POV to where it wasn't totally incomprehensible. Wherein is born the magic of lifting clips that are a second in length just for one fleeting movement of the eyes or turn of the head and having to make it work in a larger context.

The one thing that was apparent VERY quickly was how good McGann's acting really is. He has an economy of style that isn't just stillness. It's communicating stillness and when I ripped the clips down and started to examine them closely you could really see just how much was packed into a look or a small gesture. And I was able to capitalize on that.

Gruffudd on the other hand I had to tone down considerably. He does a lot of eye rolling & sighing and the gestures were just too large. So it became a selective snip snip snip of footage and then repiecing it to form sub-clips within a larger clip.

And look! it appears that I did take some of that deep breath already. *G*
