I like Dumas a lot, too, actually, and really, he's not nearly as long-winded as people think he is. Sure, he writes hefty books, and sometimes it gets out of hand, but it's not like you're exactly wading through James fucking Joyce here, guys. At his best, he's more than thrill-a-minute; he's more like thrills-every-fifteen-seconds-plus-OMG-the-main-character-is-an-ADORABLE PUPPY-and-*_*-French-people-are-so-cool-can-I-be-Edmond-Dantes-please-OMG?
... you know, it's kind of embarassing, but I just realized how much resemblance, character-wise, Qui-Gon Jinn bears to Athos, who, you know. Was totally not my favorite musketeer by several hundred miles. XD
