They were the treasures of the Temple, certainly, but they were treasures because of their potential and their gifts, not because they were shorter than he was and prone to being annoying.

This is perfect short-tempered TPM Obi-Wan. He really doesn't know how to finesse anyone who is not-Jedi -- or not adult.

Any ability he had for learning complex subjects came, instead, from the Force: it was easy for him to learn star charts because he was able to intuit the placement of the stars from his connection to the Force; the Force told him where Betar Prime ought to lie on the chart.

Oh, that's a cool interpretation of Anakin. I've never seen this particular take on him. He's generally thought to be not good at critical thinking, and with way more intution than is normal, so that makes up for it. But have him being utterly average underneath and leaning much too heavily on his Force abilities is nifty.

Obi-Wan looked across the table. Anakin was still frowning hard. He was starting to chew on his lip a little.

That's actually a little terrifying, once you think about it. No wonder Obi-Wan wasn't quite able to control Anakin.

A lack of balance, which fit with the notion that Anakin had not, in fact, turned out to be the one to bring balance to the Force.

Obi-Wan doesn't quite know how to take the long view, does he? I still think that would have to be hideous, watching as Qui-Gon slowly dissolved and being left with alone his duty and his regrets.
