I forgot to comment last night, but I adore the characterization bits you get into this story. Tony the teenage nympho, Rhodey so responsible, Tony completely on his own in every possible way. Staying at the library because he doesn't want to be alone.
And this bit:
There's a moment of silence, and Jim thinks he's finally won the argument, but five hours later, they're eating dinner together and Tony colors up and blurts out over his second slice of pizza, "The fuck, Rhodey. Can't you just pretend or something?"
